Microchip Electrospray

The Ramsey Group has pioneered the integration of microchip separations with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS).  Key innovations include the use of electroosmotic pumping to drive fluid out of the chip, and performing ESI directly from the corner of the microchip. Monolithic integration of sample injection, separation, and ionization yields extremely fast and efficient separations. Applications of this technology span the fields of proteomics, metabolomics, characterization of biological drugs, and single cell analysis.
